Iridology

Iridology is a science that studies the eye's iris on the basis of finding and diagnosing illnesses. Similar to reflexology, iridology is founded on the principle that every organ in the anatomy corresponds to specific locations. Not of the foot, but within the iris. Using iridology, a practitioner can determine whether an organ is healthy by studying the iris. Naturopathic practitioners, chiropractors, homeopathic practitioners and acupuncturists are likely to utilize iridology in their diagnostics.

One of the fastest growing fields in alternative health care, iridology was developed by Hungarian physician, Ignatz Von Peczley during the 19th century. According to his theory, markings or patterns in the iris, correlate with specific illnesses in iridology. By using an iridology "map" of the eye, an iridologist can examine a patient for just about any illness, malfunction or behavioural tendencies. Sometimes emotional, physical and mental factors can influence iris patterns; thus exhibiting differentials in markings of the iris. When compared to the iridology mapping system, these patterns can be isolated, and effectively utilized with regard to health challenges and approaches.
