I was born in Istanbul originally of Greek descent in 1984. My first connection to photography was through my father. He gave me my first camera and I became increasingly aware of my surroundings and started shooting. Later on this hobby turned into something more, I kept shooting; capturing fleeting moment, letting everyday street life become my subject and focusing my work on things that I feel very passionate about.

In 2002, I moved to the United States in order to complete my undergraduate studies. After graduating from RIT, I moved to New York City where I started developing several bodies of work and started to understand who is me more and more. For someone interested in subcultures, New York City is perfect place to be. Here I witness a city driven by the energy of it's people, constantly moving forward. This parallel to the long-standing traditions of my home country provide an interesting insight into what brings people together. People and their passions are at the essence of my work. In using my camera as a way of capturing their freedom of expression, I in turn, am able to capture my own.

My work has apperead in New York Magazine, The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Esquire and GQ. I was also listed as a PDN 30 photographer in 2011

I live in Brooklyn, New York and I love to dance tango.
